Amazon Quietly Raises the Free Shipping Minimum to $49

AmazonAmazon has changed its free shipping policy and you’re probably not going to like it. The free shipping minimum has been raised from $35 to a whopping $49. That means if you are not a Prime member, you’ll have to hit the $49 mark in your cart to get free shipping — it used to be $35. Remember the good ol’ days when the free shipping minimum used to be just $25 a few years ago?! Sadly, those days are long gone!

The good news is that Prime members will not experience any changes. I am a big fan of Amazon Prime…phew! I believe Amazon is trying to push more people into joining prime with this free shipping minimum increase. However, it could also backfire and people can start shopping more often on other online sites with lower shipping minimums. What are your thoughts on this?
